Change your Fan Page Tab Name

A frequently asked question about Facebook Fan Pages is, “How do I change my tab name to show the same name on my fan page as in my TabSite manager AFTER I have created the tab?”

This is a good question because when you first create a tab it launches the new tab name you set in TabSite to the fan page.  However, if you go back and change the name again in the TabSite manager, it doesn’t change on Facebook because the tab has already been installed.  This means you need to go go to the fan page Admin to change the name so it syncs with what you have in the TabSite manager.

With TabSite, we’ve tried to make it easy to Change your tab name by giving you direct access right from the TabSite Manager  to the Facebook Fan Page Admin area where this is set!

Steps to Change Your Tab Name:

1. Go to the ‘Account Information’ area in the TabSite Manager.

2. Once there, select “Facebook Fan Page Administrative Links”.  This opens up links for each fan page you have a TabSite account for with easy access to “Set the Default Landing Tab” and “Edit the Tab Name on Facebook.”

3. Select “Edit the Tab Name on Facebook” which takes you to Facebook Admin area.

4. Find the TabSite app with the “old name” and click “Edit Settings”.

5. Empty the old name out in the pop-up that appears (see image 2) and select “save”, then “Okay”.  By clearing it, it checks the app source on TabSite and pulls in your updated name.  This will change your tab name and make it current with what you named it in TabSite.
