Custom Tab Name Update for New Fan Page Layout on Facebook

With the new Facebook Fan Page roll-out last week by Facebook, we have had reports of the Custom Tab Name of TabSite’s reverting back to an older name and not being current.  So users have the name they want in the TabSite Manager, but on the Fan Page it shows an old name.

We have placed a bug report with Facebook (see bottom of post) but in the meantime we have developed a workaround for you.

STEPS TO RENAME YOUR CUSTOM TAB TO MATCH YOUR TABSITE CUSTOM NAME:

FIRST: Go to your Fan Page, and as Admin you have the Edit Page in the top right, click this.

SECOND:  Go to Apps in the left menu, then find the name of TabSite Apps that are not showing on your Fan Page (these are the names you want but only show in the TabSite manager currently) and click the “X” to remove these Apps from your Fan Page.

NEXT: Now Go back to your TabSite Manager area, find the name of the Tab you want to appear on the Fan Page and click the Tab.  This will bring up the yellow install box where you select the Click Here button.

THEN FOLLOW FACEBOOK PROMPTS:

DONE!  Now on your Fan Page you may want to reorder your left navigation.  Follow Steps Below:

This process will help you update your Custom Named Tabs to the latest name you have used in the TabSite Manager.

As noted at the beginning of the post, this is a Facebook Bug that occurred when Facebook updated to the new Fan Page Design Layout.  Here is the Bug Tracker info: http://bugs.developers.facebook.net/show_bug.cgi?id=15155.  Feel free to Vote for this Bug so it gets resolved faster.
