Possible Changes Coming to Tab Widths for Fan Pages

Tabsite_logo.jpgLast October, when Facebook laid out its Platform Roadmap for the next several months, it announced that the dimensions of custom tabs on Facebook Pages would be changing from 760 pixels wide to 520 pixels wide in “late 2009/early 2010.”  As of yet, this has not occurred.  However, just yesterday there was some news coming out  from Facebook that this may occur.

A Facebook spokesperson reported yesterday that the changes to Page tab widths “will likely happen in late July, but we’ll give Page administrators at least two weeks notice before making this change regardless of when it happens.

More details can be found here: Possible Fan Page Width Changes Looming.

What does this mean?  This means that all current Facebook TabSite users will need to change the width of their TabSite graphics/page content  on their Fan Page to look correct in a max width of 520 pixels.  While this change is not definite, we want to alert you to this possibility.

If there is more definitive information from Facebook on Fan Page width changes, we will post that as soon as we have it.
