- Social media penetration rates are growing fast around the world. North America is at 59%, South America is at 50%, West Europe and East Asia are at 48%, and East Europe and Oceania are at 45%. If your target markets are in these regions, you have a good chance of connecting with them through social media.
- This fast-growing global penetration rate is closely tied with social media addiction. Instead of reading the paper or watching the news, up to 85% of users get their news from Twitter and Facebook. 28% of users check their Twitter feeds before getting up. 18% can’t go a few hours without checking Facebook.
