Boost your Facebook Page with TabSite Engagement Apps

Engagement Apps are unique, individual, powerful Facebook Page tabs by TabSite with a simple focus:

Build it Fast, and Boost Fan Engagement.

These new TabSite apps are different than the original TabSite Drag N Build Tabs in that you do not add multiple widgets to your tab and move all pieces around where you want as with Drag N Build, but rather with this new suite of tools, Admins simply select the type of Engagement App they want to use, then fill out the form to create their tab content and turn it live!

Engagement Apps are designed to be quick to implement.

Again, simply select your type of Engagement App tab you want to build and have on your Facebook Page, then complete the fields for setup that we provide and publish!

Boost fan interaction with integrated social sharing tools!  Example the new “Share Deal” requires fans to share the deal with their Facebook friends before they get acces to the deal!

Key Features

  • Social Sharing Tools integrated including: Like, Share, Tweet, Google+, and Pin (Pinterest).
  • Engagement Builders: Apps tools including Coupons, Share Deal, and Group Deal encourage engagement by integrating social interaction.  Group Deal sets a minimum number of users that need to access the deal before it becomes active and is available!
  • Like Gate for fan gating is available at the Gold and Platinum levels.  Simply load your non-fan image to encourage the “Like” to access the information.
  • All Engagement Apps for Platinum Plan users come with a Promotional Tool feature.  This additional benefit allows Admins to more easily drive traffic to their tabs from their website or blog by allowing you to upload an image and grab embed code to add to your blog or site.  This image call-out will link to the Facebook Page Tab.  See further below for a visual of the setup of this feature available to all Platinum users.
Share Control:
Every TabSite Engagement app includes the ability to customize the image and messaging that gets posted to a user’s wall (plus Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest) when they socially share your Tab.

PROMOTIONAL TOOL example: Here’s a embedded call-out using the Promotional Tool feature for Engagement Apps.  This image was added in the Engagement App, code was pasted here. It’s that simple!

NOTES: Engagement Apps do not have sub-pages or work in conjuction with exsiting Drag N Build tabs using sub-pages as they are stand-alone tabs for Facebook Pages. As such, you must add a new tab to access Engagement Apps as we will not give you the Engagement App option if you are creating a new sub-page of a existing tab.

Going forward we are going to continue development on leading edge Engagement App tabs with special, focused tools to boost fan interaction, fan sharing, and driving traffic to fan pages.

Removal of FBML by Facebook – Move to TabSite for Page Tab Apps

As had been announced previously, Facebook has implemented the final removal process for all old FBML apps on Facebook Pages.

Below is the Platform Status screenshot:

Here is the excerpt from Facebook.

Platform Updates: Operation Developer Love

By Noorin Ladhani – Yesterday at 5:00pm

Since last Wednesday’s update, we spotlighted NBC’s The Voice, published Early Success Stories: Shopping, Fashion and Open Graph, and published a Games Round-Up.

Breaking Changes Effective Today

Today the following changes are in effect. For more information, check out the Developer Roadmap.

Removal of FBML
FBML apps will no longer work on Platform. The “FBML Removal” migration now appears and is enabled for all apps. It will be possible to disable the migration, thereby re-enabling FBML, until July 5, 2012 when the migration and all FBML endpoints will be removed completely.

ALERT!  If you are still using Facebook’s old FBML tabs for your Facebook Business Page, now is the time to make the change to a current tool like TabSite.

Facebook to end FBML App Support January 1 – Time to Move to TabSite

Since March 2011, page admins have not been able to create any new FBML apps, but FBML apps which were already in existence remained functional.

Facebook announced at it’s most recent f8 Developer Conference in September, 2011, that:

1. FBML will no longer be supported by Facebook beginning January 1, 2012. (This means no support and no bug fixes)

2. The final official end date when all FBML tabs will cease to work and will be removed from Facebook is set for June 1, 2012.

The time has come for those last holdouts to fully transition to iFrames and depart from the FBML coding completely, and TabSite is an ideal alternative!

History and Information for Fan Page Admins

 1. What is FBML and why do I care?

The answer is that, you don’t need to care, unless you already were using FBML on your Facebook Pages.  If you fall in the group that doesn’t need to know because you don’t have any FBML tabs on your fan page, then feel free to skip down to number 2!

FBML
FBML is Facebook’s original framework for serving custom content on fan page tabs. This content is served by Facebook, which, in short, means the user’s browser never hits the app developer’s server directly.  Instead, Facebook requests the content from the app developer’s server, parses and filters it, and sends it to the browser for display.  The result is content served by Facebook on custom tabs.

Static FBML App
The Static FBML app was an application provided by Facebook that enabled the creation of FBML based Facebook page tabs. To use the application, page admins simply added the app to their page, and then customize the content by coding using FBML code techniques.

Along with FBML, the Static FBML app will no longer be supported (no help) starting January 1, 2012, and will NO LONGER WORK on pages beginning June 1, 2012.

 2. What is Facebook’s preferred method for adding custom tabs to Fan Pages?

iFrame Apps
iFrame Apps are Facebook’s accepted framework for serving content on fan page tabs. Content is served directly by the developer’s server, rather than being proxied by Facebook’s servers. Because the page is hosted externally of Facebook, it can render HTML, CSS and even Javascript just like any external web page does, which was not the same with FBML. iFrame Apps were launched in March of 2011 and are a big improvement.

All TabSite fan page tabs use iFrame Apps.

 3. I’m not a coder and yet I want a nice, custom fan page.  What should I do?

TabSite_Blue_icon.jpgTabSite is a great solution for small and medium sized businesses wanting to easily customize their fan page without learning to do any coding.  With a easy to use drag-n-build system, TabSite is easy to navigate and has a full suite of widgets and tools including ability to:

  • Add Videos,
  • Add/Edit Content using a WYSIWYG editor,
  • Create Photo SlideShows
  • Add Facebook Social Plugins
  • Embed E-mail Sign-up forms
  • Add your Blog and Twitter feeds
  • Create a fan-gating mechanism with our Like-Gate tool
  • and more!

  4. Don’t wait!  January 1 FBML is no longer Supported.  June 1, 2012, FBML ceases to work.  Now is the time to changeover to a solution like TabSite.
