New Share Features added to TabSite Contests

TabSite is pleased to announce new additions to the TabSite Photo, Video, and Essay Contests for Facebook Pages.  

Both for the Drag N Build widget option and also for the Engagement App, there is now a “Share” button that is loaded with some extra social sharing features on the Facebook Page Contest tab.

New features in the Facebook Contest include:

  • Option to add Like button with commenting feature
  • Tweet
  • +1 to share on Google +
  • Pin to Pinterest button
  • Friend Share (TabSite’s exclusive feature enabling a fan to share a entry direct to a friend’s wall)
  • Comes with ability to customize the button color and modify the standard text that says “Share”
  • Ability for user to click to copy the URL of the specific entry they are on
All of these features give entrants, voters, and ultimately each Fan Page more power to share the contest and specific entries.  This increased sharing power is a key item in extending the reach of a contest so that more people can come, enter, and vote!
This new Share button feature is active on the thumbnail view as well as after any vote or new entry.  Plus, the features are readily displayed on the large view of any contest entry.

On the public side, entrants, voters, and those coming to view entries have the Social Sharing tools easily accessible.  In the small, thumbnail view a “Share” button appears and upon clicking it has all the share features the Page Admin has set.

Upon clicking “Share” a user gets the large view with the Share features.

The “Like” has the comment feature enabled so users can Like and comment to their wall for all their friends to see.  They can also Tweet, +1, Pin, copy the URL or click the “Share with Friends” to share with a specific friend as shown below.

All of these social sharing tools appear after entering, voting, or clicking the “Share” button or large entry view.  The Share button color and text can be customized as well to fit language and branding.

iOS 6 for iPhone makes Photo Contest Entry Easy

It’s here!  Today the iPhone 5 launched.  Are you getting one?  

Even if you aren’t getting one today, or haven’t decided yet, one thing you can do and should do is upgrade your current iPhone to iOS 6.

iOS 6 is the latest operating system software for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.  It’s got a lot of new and great features but the simplest reason to update is to increase the functionality of Safari.

Previously, Safari for mobile devices like iPhones had one significant limitation.  You could not upload photos on a web page.  This meant that Photo Contests, iPhone users could not easily upload their Photo entry to a Contest.  

Now, however, with iOS 6, that barrier is gone!

The new iOS 6 operating system from Apple makes it simple and easy to enter a photo contest from your iPhone, iPod Touch, or IPad!

TabSite Launches 2 Stage Contests – Main and Finalist Stages

2 Stage Contests for Facebook Pages

TabSite is pleased to announce the release of a new TabSite Platinum feature allowing Facebook Page Admins to boost engagement and return visits of fans by running 2 stage contests on their Facebook Pages.

Two stage Facebook Contests have general entry and voting for stage 1, and then the contest is narrowed down to a specified number of finalists set by the contest admin for a stage 2 final voting time period. 

This in demand feature allows the Page Admin to set the number of finalists for the stage 2 voting. Page Admins then set the date when stage 1 voting ends and the contest moves to stage 2 voting.  Finalists for stage 2 are determined by the voting in the general first stage of the contest.  Votes do not carry over, they simply start from zero again in Stage 2.

Example:  A Facebook Page Admin can set their contest to run for 20 days and have a Finalist Stage voting for the last 7 days where fans come back to vote on the top 5 vote getters who makeup the finalist round.

  • Draw Fans back again to your Facebook Fan Page for repeat visits for stage 1 and stage 2
  • Allows for more social engagement through the 2 stage opportunity
  • Narrows entries down from the general entries to a set number of finalists
  • Those with the most votes are rewarded and move to the final round

  • Using the Facebook Comments box plugin per entry encourages posting and when the default “Post to my profile” check remains, this further connects the poster and your Facebook Page.
  • 2-stage voting builds another further connection for entrants and voters to return to the page to vote again, and with their next round of voting comes more social sharing and connecting options with your Facebook Page.

So, the circle of connection between a fan and a Facebook Page grows with use of tools like TabSite’s Contest tool.  For Page Admins this is a way to boost the potential of fans seeing your wall posts in their News Feed.
