Need a shortcut to perfect social media posts that get engagement and shared? Here’s the perfect infographic for you. Our friends across the pond at MyClever created this with you in mind!

A few of the suggestions for the perfect post will be the same across all platforms:

  1. Provide a link
  2. Include an image
  3. Interact with comments

These should be a given no matter what social media platform you’re on. It’ the same for YouTube, your blog or Facebook. To get people engaged, you must stay engaged as well.

These are good reminders for you and your team so have a look and make sure your team is up-to-date!

LinkedIn – Status updates no more that 50 characters. Ask questions to get your audience engaging.

Blog Posts – Keywords in the first paragraph. Titles no more than 70 characters (more than that and Google won’t show it in the search engine). Add a couple of links in your post to other content the reader might be interested in, on your own blog or website and other blogs.

YouTube – Name your file before you load it. Try using the title of the video or your keywords in the name of the video. The name of the video is searchable, so make sure that Google knows what the video is about. Describe your video in the description area using keywords. Use tags to add some additional keywords. The description and the tag area are searchable by Google.

Facebook – Send out posts when your audience is on Facebook, not just during your business hours. Be educational and provide information that your viewer and their friends can use. It can be resources by others.  The key is relevant content.

Twitter – Add an image to make the Tweet more engaging.  Images get more RT’s! Use @mentions to let people know to respond. Don’t use all 140 characters, leave a little room (20 characters or so) for a comment when retweeted.

Pinterest – No human faces (images with no face get 23% more shares!). Share images with red and orange … these get twice the repins.

Google Plus – Use #hashtags (G+ auto hashtags everything also).  Communities are big on G+. Join a community! Get in there and roll up your sleeves and help. People will eventually see you as an expert and engage your services.

Instagram – Use captions to grab attention. Use #hashtags to increase sharing, and you popular hashtags as well.

Vine – Keep background noise to a minimum. Remember you can’t edit these … so take your time to create your Vine well!  You’ve got 6 seconds!

Tumblr – This is an interactive platform … make sure you like and reblog posts. That is critical!  Know your TUMBLR speak, things are not always as they seem.
