What a week!  Our team has been rolling out new features for our Facebook Page Platform, making it easier and more powerful all the time.

NOTE: This is for old Facebook Pages.  Facebook made changes March 2012 and Default Landing Page setting has been removed by Facebook. Facebook Timeline.

We have a couple key new features that will make life more seamless for adding tabs, removing tabs, and renaming tabs!

Now, with some recent permissions that Facebook has given developers, we can allow users to do more within the manager area, without the need to switch to the Facebook Admin portal.  These features include:

1. Add a New Tab in TabSite and it automatically is added to your fan page
   
2. Rename a Tab in Tabsite and it renames on Facebook
3. Set your Default Landing Page Tab for new visitors right in the TabSite tab drop down
4. If you accidentally removed a tab from your fan page but still have it in TabSite, now you can select “Add to Fan Page” and it will be added back to your fan page.
5. Remove from Fan Page – No more 2-step process of removing from TabSite and removing it from the fan page!

These new tools are available to all TabSite users simply by clicking the pencil icon next to any tab in your TabSite Manager.  See image below.

Please note that setting the Default Landing Page tab for your Facebook fan page is for NEW visitors who have not yet “Liked” your page.  This is a Facebook setting.

A frequently asked question about Facebook Fan Pages is, “How do I setup a custom Tab as the Default Landing Page for new visitors to my Fan Page?”

NOTE: March 2012 Facebook removed this option for Pages when they launched Facebook Timeline.

With TabSite, we’ve tried to make this easy by giving you direct access right from the TabSite Manager  to the Facebook Fan Page Admin area where this is set!

Now fan page Admins using TabSite can simply go to the ‘Account Information’ area in the TabSite Manager.  Once there, select “Facebook Fan Page Administrative Links”.  This opens up links for each fan page you have a TabSite account for with easy access to “Set the Default Landing Tab” and “Edit the Tab Name on Facebook.”

Notes:

• Facebook lets you set the default Landing Tab for NEW visitors.  Both Admins and anyone how has “Liked” the fan page are sent to the Wall on return visits.
• You can sync your tab names (what is says in the TabSite Manager and what is says on your Fan Page by going to the “Edit the Tab Name on Facebook” link and then on the tab settings, select “Edit Settings” and clear the name in the box that appears, and save.

So there you have it!  Easily set you Default Landing Page starting from a link in TabSite directly to your fan page admin area.  Once again, a simple solution from TabSite empowering businesses and organizations with tools that are Powerful. Easy. Social.
