Static HTML Facebook Page Tab by TabSite

TECHNICAL UPDATE:

(Non-Techy Summary:  Facebook to remove all FBML Apps from Pages on December 5, 2012.  This only applies to tabs using FBML.  This DOES NOT impact any TabSite users.  This is simply an update for those not using TabSite to be aware they may want to move to TabSite since we are complaint with current Facebook iframe tab functionality and we offer a Static HTML Faceook Page Tab with our Gold and Platinum Plans).

facebook-fbml.gifIn July of this year, Facebook removed FBML functions so that any FBML code that was being used in the Static FBML Page app would have stopped working at that time. However, the Static FBML Page app is still able to render plain HTML. On December 5th, 2012, Facebook will remove the Static FBML Page app and any Static FBML tabs that were installed on a brand Facebook Page will disappear.

Here is the detail from the Facebook Developer Blog:

This is just another reminder that Facebook is ending the final remnant of FBML and that all tabs for Facebook Pages going forward are using the iframe functionality.

TabSite is totally compliant with Facebook current and upcoming changes and all TabSite users can rest assured that their tabs will continue to work and remain.

For non-TabSite users looking for an alternative, TabSite does offer a Static HTML Facebook Page tab tool.  Simply sign-up for a TabSite Plan and use our tools to easily create custom tabs without knowing any html coding.

TabSite offers design power and promotional tools including contests, deals, sweepstakes, coupons, and more.

Fan Pages Move From FBML to iFrames March 11 – TabSite Ready!

FB_Pages.jpgFacebook Fan Pages received a makeover this week!

All pages will move to the new format on March 10.

One of the major changes announced to page admins is the fact that FBML apps, and the code language of FBML as a whole, will be deprecated – which means it will no longer be a code that is utilized and accepted on the Facebook platform.  Instead, they are moving to iFrames as the core for all tab apps.

LargeLike.jpgThe deadline given by Facebook is March11th.

And starting March 11th, you will no longer be able to create new FBML apps for your Facebook Fan Pages, including the Static FBML App.

Existing FBML apps will continue to work as normal for the near future (including Static FBML apps), you just won’t be able to create any new FBML apps.  This is significant as thousands of people have used Static FBML and while they will work now, there is clear potential that Facebook will stop allowing even previously created ones at some point, forcing everyone to move to iFrames.

What does iFrames mean for TabSite?

This is where the news gets real exciting!  TabSite is iFrame ready!

In place of the limited code language of FBML, we’ll get full HTML, javascript, and iFrame capabilities for customizing a Facebook Fan Page.

This means TabSite will be able to roll out new features without limitations imposed by Facebook!

All TabSite accounts will continue to work with no issues!  So, if you have a Static FBML App, we encourage you to check-out TabSite as a great alternative.  Our iFrame launch is just around the corner and beyond that we have some great new tools coming this spring.

Expect new and more features from TabSite after March 11 when the change happens!

Static FBML Knowledge Not Needed!

March 19, 2010

If you have wanted to create a custom tab on your Facebook Fan pages, or have attempted to use the Static FBML Facebook Application but just couldn’t get it to look right; then we have the Facebook App you’ve been looking for!

Digital Hill Multimedia, Inc. is excited to release a new Application called Facebook TabSite.

tabsitefbpage385.jpgWhat is a Facebook TabSite you ask? A TabSite is an easy way to create you own mini-website within a tab on your Facebook Fan Page or Personal Facebook Page without needing to know any FBML code nor needing to use Static FBML.  Create a landing page, multiple pages about your products & services, or share “Facebook Only” Coupons with your fans!  All are easily possible within Facebook TabSite.

A TabSite is a ‘must have‘ for any business serious about their Fan Page who wants to easily add content and images using a simple WYSIWYG content manager.

Facebook TabSite is an alternative to Static FBML and requires no FBML knowledge nor do you need the Static FBML Application.  While Static FBML has it uses for those who like to write code, Facebook TabSite gives you a simple CMS (Content Management System) tool so that you don’t have to pay a programmer to write FBML code for your Fan Page tab.

Within Facebook TabSite you can:

  • Create multiple pages
  • Publish or unpublish your pages (storing them for later use!)
  • Add links to documents like .pdf and .docx so fans can have easy access to forms to view/download
  • Easily edit content and add images, no FBML knowledge needed!
  • Link to your company website, e-commerce store, blog or other web pages.
  • Add administrators to allow co-workers access to your company TabSite.
  • The Pro version even has a contact form for fans to easily submit questions and comments to you.

Did we mention that you don’t have to know any FBML code or use the Static FBML Application? Get Started With Your FREE Facebook TabSite Today!

Stay tuned for future roll-outs of new features, tools, and templates to help you have custom pages on your Fan Page tab without needing to know any FBML!

Facebook Tabsite Beta Launch is Ready!

Facebook Tabsite is ready to launch in Beta!  We believe this Facebook page and Fan Page Application will be a huge boost to users and small businesses on Facebook that can help them customize and share more content on their page.

As opposed to Static FBML, this Application uses a easy Content Management WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor.  The interface is similar to Microsoft Word and it allows you to add and customize text, links, images and more!

At a very affordable monthly or yearly fee, Facebook Tabsite is a tool with ease of use that does not force you to learn FBML or use Static FBML but automatically converts what you enter into FBML language to display your content on your Fan Page.

So go ahead, customize your Facebook Fan Page with Tabsite!

Static FBML and FBML are all tools of Facebook.  This Application is not owned by Facebook, it is simply a Application to use on Facebook.
