How to Set Default Landing Page

A frequently asked question about Facebook Fan Pages is, “How do I setup a custom Tab as the Default Landing Page for new visitors to my Fan Page?”

NOTE: March 2012 Facebook removed this option for Pages when they launched Facebook Timeline.

With TabSite, we’ve tried to make this easy by giving you direct access right from the TabSite Manager to the Facebook Fan Page Admin area where this is set!

Now fan page Admins using TabSite can simply go to the ‘Account Information’ area in the TabSite Manager. Once there, select “Facebook Fan Page Administrative Links”. This opens up links for each fan page you have a TabSite account for with easy access to “Set the Default Landing Tab” and “Edit the Tab Name on Facebook.”

Notes:

Facebook lets you set the default Landing Tab for NEW visitors. Both Admins and anyone how has “Liked” the fan page are sent to the Wall on return visits.
You can sync your tab names (what is says in the TabSite Manager and what is says on your Fan Page by going to the “Edit the Tab Name on Facebook” link and then on the tab settings, select “Edit Settings” and clear the name in the box that appears, and save.

So there you have it! Easily set you Default Landing Page starting from a link in TabSite directly to your fan page admin area. Once again, a simple solution from TabSite empowering businesses and organizations with tools that are Powerful. Easy. Social.

Illinois State University Athletics Launches New Tab Design By TabSite

Illinois State University Athletics chose TabSite to to design a custom tab for their Facebook Fan Page. With the custom design now launched, Illinois State University Athletics now has the ability to easily manage content and updates on their tabs with TabSite’s new Drag N Build system.

TabSite also designed the Illinois State University Athletics Fan Gate Image. This image blocks content to non-fans until a visitor “Likes” the page. The purpose of a Fan Gate Image is to entice visitors to become a fan of a Facebook Fan Page, increasing the audience.

Billboard uses TabSite with QR code for Facebook Contest

Billboard (Facebook.com/Billboard) recently announced a new contest using QR codes for contest entry. The custom tab on their Facebook fan page uses TabSite as a easy way to add content and images.

This is a great example of the potential uses of TabSite. As seen below, users can come to the the fan page and scan the QR code with their mobile device. This then opens up a webpage where the user can enter their contest.
