Facebook: The Place for PDA on Valentine’s Day

Tabsite - The Place for PDA on Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day is a major social event for everyone, couples, singles, pets. The idea is that there’s more to love than just the romantic love. Digital marketers stand to gain a lot by capitalizing on this upcoming celebration. Facebook is the place for public PDA on Valentine’s Day and here’s a great infographic from  SocialTimes.com that proves it.

According to Facebook IQ, people declare love for family, friends, pets, and even themselves on Valentine’s Day. Most of the time, this show of affection is accompanied by gifts, so expect people to start shopping around a week before Feb. 14.

Based on a previous year’s survey, 56.2 percent of participants used their mobile devices to research presents or compare prices, while 26.1 percent made purchases online. Not all these gifts went to a significant other — 59.4 percent wanted to show appreciation for a family member while 19.4 percent wanted to buy something for their pets.

Love comes in all forms, indeed.
